Johnna Shockley DMD

has truly been your neighbor her whole life. Raised in the charming town of Cumberland Gap, she now lives just a short distance from the practice she proudly calls home. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky in 1999 and soon after returned to beautiful East Tennessee, where she has been caring for smiles for more than 26 years.

Dr. Shockley is deeply committed to lifelong learning and staying ahead of the curve in modern dentistry. In addition to her dental degree, she completed Progressive Orthodontic Seminars’ two-year orthodontic program in 2010 and earned certification in Peer Practicum Implant Dentistry in 2004. Most recently, she became certified through the American Academy of Esthetics to administer Botulinum Toxin (BOTOX), dermal fillers, and Frontline TMJ Orofacial Pain Therapy. Her dedication to continuing education has also been recognized by the Tennessee Dental Association with Certificates of Achievement, as well as Partners in Education honors for her work with Brickey Elementary School.

When she’s not in the office, Dr. Shockley keeps busy with her two beloved four-legged companions, Teddy the poodle and Skippy the chihuahua, and traveling with her spicy, sassy mother, Kathy. As a mom and a long-standing member of this community, she understands how important it is to choose the right dentist for your family.

With her quick wit and approachable style, Dr. Shockley encourages honest and genuine conversations about your smile, whether the topic is implants, braces, gum health, or cosmetics.

Insurance & Scheduling Coordinator

Kayla

Kayla brings more than a decade of experience in the dental industry, along with a deep understanding of insurance and practice operations. After spending over four years working alongside our team in the office, she now supports us remotely, assisting with marketing, verifications, and serving as our behind-the-scenes problem solver and biggest cheerleader.

Registered Dental Assistant

Shannon

Shannon brings more than 20 years of experience to our dental team. She began her career with certifications in coronal polishing, nitrous oxide, sealants, and radiation, building a strong clinical foundation early on.

In 2018, Shannon joined our practice as a Registered Dental Assistant and now serves as our Scheduling and Treatment Plan Coordinator, where her organization, knowledge, and friendly demeanor help keep everything running smoothly.

Outside the office, Shannon enjoys weekends at church with her husband, Mike. After 29 years together, they’ve discovered a shared love of boating on Norris Lake and Jeepin’ around the region. Shannon’s greatest joy, however, is cooking for her “little family” — daughters Michaela (husband Alex) and Breanna (husband Jeff), along with her red heeler Yeager and granddogs Willow, Rocco, and Loki.

With a touch of Southern charm and plenty of warmth, Shannon helps patients relax right away, while keeping the office running smoothly behind the scenes.

Registered Dental Hygienist

Sharon

Sharon brings a remarkable depth of experience and expertise to our practice. Before earning her Registered Dental Hygiene and Local Anesthesia License in 1996, she spent 16 years as a Registered Dental Assistant, giving her a well-rounded understanding of patient care from every angle.

Her steady knowledge and thoughtful approach help patients feel comfortable and confident during every visit.

Outside the office, Sharon shares life with her husband of 36 years, Max, their son Dexter, and her beloved granddaughters, Jada and Livia — along with her loyal four-legged companion, Gunner. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, DIY projects, ballroom dancing, and attending concerts.

Known for her calming presence and ever-present smile, Sharon has a way of putting everyone instantly at ease.

Front Office

Dee

Dee has more than 12 years of experience in dentistry and is often the first friendly face patients see when they walk through our doors. With her prior medical background, she knows the importance getting to know our patients while helping guide them through their dental journey.

As our front office team member, Dee keeps things running smoothly by checking patients in and out and making sure every visit starts and ends on a positive note.

Outside the office, Dee loves making memories with her daughters Courtney (husband Logan) and Caitlin (husband Colton), and her adorable grandbabies, Ember and Rowan. “Mimi” is her favorite title, and her cat, Otis, is her constant companion.

Dee’s easy smile and sparkling personality help patients feel comfortable right away — even on dentist days.

Presley

Presley was born and raised in New Tazewell, Tennessee, and attended LMU for both dental assisting and her undergraduate studies. She’s uniquely come full circle with our practice, having once been an orthodontic patient herself and now working toward her dream of becoming an orthodontist one day.
